PCF Project Assistant

Are you passionate about preserving our coastal environments and embracing sustainable practices for future generations? Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF) is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for 6 months as Project Assistant.

 

Job Title: PCF Project Assistant
Working Hours: 26 weeks 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £23,500 per annum Pro Rata
Responsible to: PCF Programme Manager
Location: Pier House, Pier Road, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6TR
Work with: PCF Team according project needs.

 

The exciting role will involve working with the PCF team supporting the project team in the delivery of the Marine Energy Engagement Plan (MEEP). We will aim to support the development of a work plan in line with your interests. You will be part of a busy and enthusiastic team and will need to assist in the different areas of our work.

Principal Responsibilities

Working with key PCF projects the Project Assistant will:

  • Assist in the creation of communication resources and online content.
  • Assist with data collection and monitoring.
  • Support the organisation and running of events.
  • Assist with project administration task.
  • As a small team you will be needed to support other areas of PCF’s work with tasks at a similar level.

Skills and experience we are seeking include: 

Essential:

  • Good communication skills
  • An interest in the key issues in Pembrokeshire communities
  • An interest in renewable energy
  • Willingness to consider the views and opinions of others
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work without direct supervision at times
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn new skills, and try new approaches
  • 5 GCSE or equivalent at C or above

Desirable:

  • Work or volunteering experience.
  • Completion of a post 16+ education course.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.
  • Knowledge of local area.

The role is for 26 weeks, and you will be expected to commit to 37.5 hours per week.
PCF Offices are in Pembroke Dock, all staff are expected to work in the office for 2 days per week.
You will be issued with a work laptop to enable remote working should you wish to.
You will be entitled to 13 days paid leave during this time, plus Bank Holidays.
Training needs will be agreed with your line manager.

Established in 2000, Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF) is an award winning Community Interest Company that works to enhance the coast and marine environments for current and future generations. As a coastal partnership PCF has developed a range of collaborative projects, often viewed as sustainable best practice, including Marine Energy Wales and the Marine Energy Test Area.

At PCF we inspire, collaborate and deliver solutions for sustainable coastal communities through a collaborative portfolio of work. PCF works at multiple levels providing strategic advice and delivering on community based activity to international project delivery. Work is wide ranging including stakeholder engagement, market research, curriculum linked marine education and project development.

The Marine Energy Engagement Plan (MEEP) has been designed to empower Pembrokeshire’s local communities by promoting knowledge and participation in marine renewable energy (MRE) initiatives, ensuring its opportunities and benefits are brought to Pembrokeshire and its people.

Marine Energy Wales is a long standing project of PCF, a pioneering initiative supporting the development of sustainable marine energy resources in Wales.

META – Marine Energy Test Area, is managed by PCF as part of the Marine Renewable Energy programme. It consists of eight pre-consented sites in and around the Milford Haven Waterway for testing and advancing marine energy technologies.

  • Cefnogi’r gwaith o drefnu a chynnal digwyddiadau.
  • Cynorthwyo gyda thasg gweinyddu’r prosiect.
  • Fel tîm bach bydd angen i chi gefnogi meysydd eraill o waith PCF gyda thasgau ar lefel debyg.

Wedi’i sefydlu yn 2000, mae Fforwm Arfordir Sir Benfro (PCF) yn Gwmni Buddiannau Cymunedol sydd wedi ennill gwobrau ac sy’n gweithio i wella’r arfordir a’r amgylchedd morol ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r presennol a’r dyfodol. Fel partneriaeth arfordirol mae PCF wedi datblygu amrywiaeth o brosiectau cydweithredol, a ystyrir yn aml fel arfer gorau cynaliadwy, gan gynnwys Ynni’r Môr Cymru a’r Ardal Profi Ynni’r Môr.

Yn PCF rydym yn ysbrydoli, yn cydweithio ac yn darparu atebion ar gyfer cymunedau arfordirol cynaliadwy trwy bortffolio o waith cydweithredol. Mae PCF yn gweithio ar sawl lefel gan ddarparu cyngor strategol a chyflawni gweithgarwch cymunedol i gyflawni prosiectau rhyngwladol. Mae’r gwaith yn amrywio’n fawr gan gynnwys ymgysylltu â rhanddeiliaid, ymchwil i’r farchnad, addysg forol sy’n gysylltiedig â’r cwricwlwm a datblygu prosiectau.

Mae’r Cynllun Ymgysylltu Ynni’r Môr (MEEP) wedi’i gynllunio i rymuso cymunedau lleol Sir Benfro trwy hyrwyddo gwybodaeth a chyfranogiad mewn mentrau ynni adnewyddadwy morol (MRE), gan sicrhau bod ei chyfleoedd a’i buddion yn dod i Sir Benfro a’i phobl.

Mae Ynni’r Môr Cymru yn brosiect hirsefydlog o PCF, menter arloesol sy’n cefnogi datblygiad adnoddau ynni’r môr cynaliadwy yng Nghymru.META – Ardal Profi Ynni’r Môr, a reolir gan PCF fel rhan o raglen Ynni Adnewyddadwy Morol. Mae’n cynnwys wyth safle sydd wedi’u cydsynio ymlaen llaw yn ac o amgylch Dyfrffordd Aberdaugleddau ar gyfer profi a datblygu technolegau ynni’r môr.
