Updated offshore MPA conservation advice packages published

Our seas have a brilliant variety of marine life and habitats, many of which are rare and nationally important. The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) has developed a new approach to its UK offshore Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) conservation advice. The revised approach provides more detailed advice and information to operators and regulators, supporting management decisions that ensure that our seas remain healthy into the future. To date, JNCC have published seven updated conservation advice packages following this new approach. These are hosted on JNCCs offshore MPA Site Information Centres. Two of these new packages are draft and currently undergoing a period to comment. If you are interested in commenting on these draft packages or simply curious about our revised approach and progress on publishing further updated conservation advice packages please click on this link: http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/page-6849
