‘Innovation to drive transformational change – Ofwat

Ofwat have confirmed that they will be setting up a £200m innovation fund for AMP7 – see here for details. The fund will be run by a third party for Ofwat, with competitions to be held at least annually during AMP7. Bids will need to be led by the 17 wholesale water companies in England and Wales, and new entrants – with collaborative bids preferred. Addressing future water scarcity was one of the big issues flagged in the consultation on this fund which Waterwise engaged with last summer – we will be pushing for the fund to support innovation in water efficiency and the delivery of the UK Water Efficiency Strategy.
