UKTAG Standards Consultation May 2019   We are consulting on proposals aim to improve the quality of the water environment in the UK by setting new standards or improving existing standards where the evidence suggests a change would be beneficial.  The consultation runs from Friday 24 May to Friday 5 July, inclusive.

Why We Are Consulting   The purpose of this consultation is to gather views from stakeholders on the new and revised proposals for biological and environmental standards.  UKTAG proposed standards for the first river basin plans which were adopted by the UK government and devolved authorities in 2007 and 2008.  A further set of new and updated standards were proposed for the second cycle of river basin plans in 2012.  We are now consulting on new and revised proposals for standards to support the third cycle of river basin plans.  Everyone is welcome to reply to this consultation including industry, businesses, environmental organisations, scientists, local and central government, non-governmental organisations and members of the public.

See the Additional Documents section of this page for the consultation document, annexes, relevant background reports and response form.  Responses should be returned to UKTAG no later than Friday 5 July.   Click here to read more
