The Marine Pioneer programme used collaborative partnership over three years to explore how to deliver the ambition and goals of the 25 Year Environment Plan. This document provides summaries of eight topics; how to apply a marine natural capital approach, integrate planning and delivery of marine management, increase funding for marine nature restoration, improve fisheries management, improve marine protected area outcomes, increase community empowerment, apply a net gain principle and share best practice.

The document links to all the work produced by the Marine Pioneer partnership but highlights the recommendations and the rationale for those recommendations that emerged from that work. It is a substantial body of knowledge based on experience, expertise and new thinking by a multi-disciplinary collective of academics, government agencies, non-government organisations and nature managers.  Click here to read more
