    Environment Agency publishes report on catchment projects in 2015-16

    Environment Agency ‘This report, produced by the Environment Agency, outlines projects funded under the Catchment Partnership Action Fund. The aim of the Catchment Partnership Action Fund is to deliver improved water quality to meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive. The fund helped to support catchment partnerships and provide a way of funding local projects which addressed objectives set out in River Basin Management Plans. In addition the fund was also used on support tools, guidance and training for the partnership hosts. Read the second report which covered the financial year 2014 to 2015.

    The report says the Government is promoting stronger working at a catchment scale to integrate land management, development and flood resilience to deliver a wide range of benefits to local communities and partners.  The aim of the Catchment Partnership Action Fund is to deliver improved water quality to meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive. The fund has helped to support catchment partnerships and provide a way of funding local projects which addressed objectives set out in River Basin Management Plans. In addition the fund has also been used on support tools, guidance and training for the partnership hosts. The purpose of CPAF was to support the maintenance of catchment partnerships and provide a mechanism to fund measures led by civil society to address the RBMP objectives, with partnerships asked to aim to secure at least 20% match funding. In the 2015/16 financial year the Environment Agency administered and made available £4.775 million of funding to charitable, benevolent or philanthropic institutions. The report sets out how this funding was used.
