Our big cities, London and Birmingham, and many other places have been severely affected by flash flooding in June. Is flash flooding something that is becoming normal and acceptable? Just like major winter storm – flood events. How do we best describe these events and communicate their normality or otherwise.

This is an interesting, day by day compilation, of the remarkable series of flash floods that we have had in June. Who compiled it?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: In June 2016, parts of the United Kingdom were struck by serious flash floods. Starting on 7 June, thunderstorms caused intense rainfall in many locations across the country, particularly in the north of England and in London, causing repeated flash floods in several locations on a daily basis.

The flooding in the United Kingdom followed further flooding on the European mainland throughout May and June 2016, although the two events were caused by different weather systems.
