Marine Stewardship Council – Global Impacts Report & success

    News

Marine Stewardship Council: MSC certified fisheries are having lasting, positive impacts on the way our oceans are fished. Our 2016 Global Impacts Report provides a quantitative analysis of the progress made over the last five years. Since 2010, the volume of global wild seafood catch that is MSC certified has almost doubled from 5% to 9.4%. The report highlights how advances in technology, research and management are leading to smarter and more selective fishing. With 94% MSC certified fisheries required to make at least one improvement to their fishing practices, certification has resulted in 876 positive changes, with many more in development.
