At Coastal Futures 2016 Roger Lankester highlighted the slowness of UK Government to ratify the Ballast Water Convention

The Ballast water Convention is a major step forward towards the control of aquatic alien species distributed around the world in the ballast water of shipping. However, it is yet to be ratified and the UK Government still has not to ratified the convention.
