This draft Estuaries Management Plan brings together the previous individual management plans of the Yealm, Erme, Avon, Salcombe-Kingsbridge and Dart estuaries within one plan and ties in more strongly to the South Devon AONB management plan. Our five estuaries are one of the defining features of the South Devon AONB – each of them unique and special in their own way and each of them very much treasured by their local communities. Whilst many of the estuary management issues and concerns are generic to all five of the estuaries, it is important that the identity and ‘ownership’ of each estuary is encouraged and supported by their local community.

We are inviting you read through this draft and tell us about any gaps or omissions of issues or concerns, and about any further actions that you may be planning or already involved in.

If you are representing a group or organisation, we would appreciate you forwarding this invitation within your group and give a representative group response. Please be clear when responses are individual or representative of your group.

The draft plan is available to download as a 854KB Word document from our website – www.southdevonaonb.org.uk/uploads/files/Estuaries/SDEMP_Public_Consultation_draft.docx (please do let us know if you would like the document in another format).

We would appreciate responses as a ‘Tracked Changes Review’ to myself – Nigel.Mortimer@SouthDevonAONB.org.uk

To allow reasonable time for meeting cycles the closing date for comments is Friday 11th March.
