Defra ‘Today we have published the Government’s response and consultation summary on our proposed changes to marine licensing, so that in exceptional circumstances the Secretary of State can make certain licence decisions. The Government’s response confirms that it will proceed with the proposed changes. These strengthen the democratic accountability of the marine licensing process for the most complex licensing determinations. The changes will apply to applications for marine licenses accepted by the Marine Management Organisation after 01 October 2015. We will be publishing guidance on the changes.’
