    2. How much nitrogen you can apply to your crops
    3. How much organic manure you can use (farm and field limits)
    4. Plan your nitrogen use
    5. Assess the risk of runoff before spreading
    6. Where you can’t spread manufactured fertilisers or organic manures
    7. Using manures with high readily available nitrogen
    8. Work organic manures into the soil after spreading

3.Storing organic manures in nitrate vulnerable zones

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/storing-organic-manures-in-nitrate-vulnerable-zones

How to provide enough storage and keep storage records of organic manures in a nitrate vulnerable zone (NVZ).

    1. Storing slurry and poultry manure
    2. Storing solid manures
    3. Constructing or enlarging your storage facilities
    4. Keeping storage records
    5. Where to get help

Organic manures come from animals, plants or humans. They include:

    • slurry
    • poultry manures
    • solid manures (eg farmyard manure, sludge cake or compost)
    • sewage sludge (also called biosoids)
    • other liquid manures (eg abattoir waste or anaerobic digestate)

4.Grassland derogations for livestock manure in nitrate vulnerable zones

What to do if the amount of livestock manure produced on your farm is likely to exceed the amount you’re allowed to spread on your land in a nitrate vulnerable zone (NVZ).

    Contents

    1. Eligibility for a grassland derogation
    2. Apply for a grassland derogation
    3. Meet the conditions of your derogation
    4. The conditions of a derogation
    5. Records you must keep
    6. Records you must submit to the Environment Agency (fertilisation account)
