This article is a personal perspective, based on the author’s keynote presentation at the 2014 Challenger Conference in Plymouth, and Coastal Futures 2015 in London. It concentrates on ocean acidification but puts this in the wider context of the major planetary drivers, which he illustrates, that are having an impact on the world’s oceans.
