Professional Certificate in Exploration, Assessment, Development, Extraction and Management of Sand and Gravel Resources
The Crown Estate manages the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They take an active approach to managing this natural asset in a sustainable and effective manner including the award of agreements for sand and gravel extraction, agreements for cable and pipeline infrastructure and survey licences.
The Crown Estate actively support existing industry professionals but seek to extend awareness and interest to recent graduates, post-graduate students and suitable and interested candidates in the more detailed understanding of shallow marine geology and sediments through attendance at a sponsored course in Autumn / Winter 2025/26.
The course ‘Professional Certificate in Exploration, Assessment, Development, Extraction and Management of Sand and Gravel Resources’ will be held at the Geological Society in Piccadilly, London. The course comprises of seven sessions, held one day per month starting in October and will be run by industry and seabed experts. The course will focus on the origins and character of marine sands and gravels, the practical interpretation of high-resolution geophysical and geotechnical data acquired offshore.
