    Coastal Change Research Fellow

    Closing date: Wednesday 21st May

    Salary: £38,205 to £44,263

Fixed term 36 months, Full Time

A Coastal Change Research Fellow (CCRF) to conduct a programme of community-based research involving a wide range of stakeholders to co-create a better transition in areas of rapid coastal erosion. This 3-year position offers excellent career development opportunities including managing significant elements of a work package, speaking at international academic conferences and co-authoring publications.

Collaborating closely with the Changing Coasts East Riding Project (CCER), the postholder will support delivery of the CCER Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan and will establish and deliver coastal change CPD materials to integrate with the EEI’s successful MSc in Flood Risk Management. CCER is part of the Coastal Transition Acceleration Programme, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme managed by the Environment Agency and delivered by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

You will have a PhD or equivalent experience, knowledge and understanding in community engagement research with an emerging research track record. Liaising with external project partners to deliver joint research or policy outputs and with experience of designing and delivering teaching at either undergraduate or postgraduate level are also required. Having designed and delivered public engagement activities and/or working with community groups would be desirable, as would a knowledge and understanding of coastal processes.
