The Government has committed £2.65 billion to better protect 66,000 properties from flooding and coastal erosion by March 2026.
The record two-year investment of £2.65 billion will see 52,000 properties benefit from new defences, with a further 14,500 properties benefiting from repairs and maintenance of existing defences.

A full list of the schemes to receive government funding in 2025-2026 will follow.
However, analysis by The Guardian suggests that more than 100,000 new homes will be built on the highest-risk flood zones in England in the next five years as part of the government’s push for 1.5m extra properties by the end of this parliament.
