Communications for Conservation Projects (Foundation)
The goal of the course is to teach conservationists how to confidently plan and deliver effective communications activities, during their work as wildlife conservationists. Participants learn how to:
- Produce a communications plan for conservation projects.
- Write engaging content about conservation projects.
- Get press and media coverage for conservation projects.
- Build and engage audiences on social media for conservation projects.
- Create content to support conservation campaigns.
- Measure the success of their communications activities.
NEW: Communications Strategy Development for Conservation Projects (Advanced)
The goal of the course is to teach conservationists how to confidently develop a communications strategy, from the initial brief to the final campaign plan. Participants learn how to:
- Develop a communications strategy. The building blocks for success.
- Research the situation. The art of workshopping.
- Identify key audiences. Get to know them.
- Develop and target messaging. Storytelling for your audience.
- Create a communications plan. Metrics and success.
- Complete a living communications strategy. Pulling it all together.
Both courses follow a detailed analysis of what employers are looking for when hiring conservationists, and are taught by communications expert Lloyd Gofton.
They are delivered as self-paced online courses, and participants have an entire year’s access to work through the learning with the support of the tutor.
