A new study highlights the health co-benefits of actions towards achieving the UK’s 2050 net zero targets. Reduced indoor and outdoor air pollution, reduced consumption of meat and dairy, plus greater uptake of cycling and walking, could prevent 2 million premature deaths by 2050. The EU has committed to becoming a net zero economy by 2050, and under the EU climate law, Member States must cut emissions by at least 55% by 2030 – a commitment that is at the heart of the European Green Deal.
