On 15 July, the Senedd’s Committee for the Scrutiny of the First Minister scrutinised the First Minister, Mark Drakeford, on the Welsh Government’s support for coastal and rural communities.

The Senedd Research unit has set out some of the main issues that could be discussed during the session.

The research report covers several topics that are highly relevant to coastal and marine management in Wales currently. The topics focussed on include:

  • Marine Renewable Energy
  • The Crown Estate in Wales
  • Port & Grid Infrastructure
  • Coastal Adaptation
  • Coastal Communities Fund
  • Freeports
