The appointment was made following a fair and open recruitment exercise which attracted a strong field of high quality applicants. Prior to joining the MMO, John served 17 years in the Royal Navy and also gained a wealth of experience as a Senior Civil Servant in departments and organisations including the Cabinet Office, the Home Office and the National Health Service. John most recently worked as an advisor to the Archbishop of York, using his experience of leading organisations through complex projects to change the Church of England’s structure.
