‘I’ve linked a paper we produced from an EA funded project – this outlines > 1200 historic landfill sites that are in the coastal flood risk or erosion risk zone. These are old landfills that pre-date modern legislation, where solid industrial, hazardous and domestic wastes were landfilled along our coastline. There are few strategies in place to assess, or remediate these sites and the presence of waste constrains coastal management decisions.’
