Dickon Howell, Howell Marine Consulting and former Chief Scientific Advisor, and Head of Marine Licensing at the MMO, made clear that a major challenge for sectoral planning of offshore wind conducted by the devolved administrations is exacerbated without an up to date integrated UK Marine Strategy or integrated Marine Policy Statement, and that it is difficult to foresee the mechanism which will ensure that policy integrates environmental, social and economic impacts on a UK-wide level.
