    WFA-CPC campaign ‘Sea Our Future’

Ahead of the Senedd election on the 6th May, the WFA has published its vision document, Sea Our Future, explaining who, what and how the WFA and its constituent fishermen’s associations work with fisheries managers, nature conservation bodies and others to aim for sustainable and profitable fisheries.

The WFA-CPC’s manifesto centres around the need to reform fisheries management in Wales to achieve our vision and specifically requests:

    • The introduction of a Welsh Fisheries Bill in the New Senedd Term
    • The creation of a duty to adaptively manage the exploitation of the sea fishery resources in a sustainable way
    • An independent review of fisheries management structures and resources in Wales in the first year of the next Senedd

WFA-CPC’s constituent associations have arranged to meet Senedd candidates to explain the need for a reform.
