    Government unveils ‘radical’ energy efficiency standards for homes and offices

    The government has published a summary of responses and its response to the recent consultation on the Future Homes Standard:

    All homes and business facilities will be required to meet new energy efficiency standards that reduce energy consumption and lower bills by 2025, after the Government finally outlined responses to the Future Homes Standard.

    There is little mention of water. A reference value of 125 litres per person per day will be used for target setting, and wastewater heat recovery will be covered by Part L of Building Regulations from later this year, but won’t become part of the Future Homes Standard.
