The Arctic region is warming and changing faster than anywhere else on Earth, with the first ice-free Arctic summer predicted for 2035. Understanding these changes and predicting their consequences is top of the research agenda in the region. In this edition we explore the scientific collaborations between nations, and the herculean efforts required to study these remote and dramatic places.
