If you have a social network – use it to help combat the virus and help your community
Many of your projects generate huge social capital. If you run a social network now is the time to rethink how you might use it to help combat the virus and help your community.
A perfect example – From Seahorse conservation to disaster relief. Heather Koldewey in her chapter in my book described how after a major earthquake, followed in quick succession by a devastating typhoon the network that had been developed to help protect seahorses, MPAs and mangroves responded by helping with the disaster relief.
In a similar vein my wife’s award winning produce market of 10 years has had to close its doors but the market social network is now being used to advertise the local producers and how people can still access their products.
You might have to rethink and reimagine how your network might work but so be it. If you have a social network use it.
