Marine conservation project grants – applications invited

If you are planning a marine conservation project, you may be eligible to apply for a grant from Sea-Changers.

We give out a number of grants (generally between £500 and £1,200) twice a year,  particularly supporting grassroots and community based projects. The latest application round for our Main Grants Fund is currently open with a closing date of 31st March 2020. The application process is very straightforward and the proportion of grants that are successful is generally over 50%.

The projects we fund must achieve one or more of the following objectives:

  • To address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.
  • To prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and / or species.
  • To add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.

Marine Litter Projects
We have a small amount of funding that is specifically available to projects based in Scotland that address the issue of marine litter. We would welcome projects that focus on this issue.  The funding has the following objectives:

  • To address the root causes of marine litter.
  • To prevent or reduce marine litter impacting on UK coastal and marine environments and/or species.
  • To add to the body of knowledge about the nature and impact of marine litter.
