SEA-CHANGERS LAUNCHES COASTAL FOUNTAIN FUND

The Sea-Changers Coastal Fountain Fund 2020 will support groups and organisations around the UK who wish to install water bottle refill stations on beaches. The programme aims to tackle the increasing problem of plastic bottles left behind along the coasts as marine litter, damaging the marine environment and the species that call it home.  The fund is being sponsored by Bunzl plc. who are supporting this work as part of their response to the plastic challenge.

The aim of the new fund is simple:

To prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and species by reducing marine litter, through the provision of well-located coastal water fountains that will significantly reduce the use of non-reusable plastic drinks bottles.

A maximum sum of £2,000 per fountain is available (people may apply for multiple refill stations within an application if they wish to do so).

If you know an organisation that is keen to purchase and enable the installation of a water bottle refill station in their local coastal community, please do let them know about the existence of the fund. It is likely they will already have some plans in place and be seeking that final bit of funding to make things happen.

The deadline for applications is 28th February 2020. You can find out more here www.sea-changers.org.uk/sea-changers-coastal-fountain-fund

Best wishes
