Ocean Cleanup and their young entrepreneur Boyan Slat have been battling away with boom and screen technology systems in the Pacific garbage patch with limited success and much criticism for their lack of environmental assessment.
Perhaps more sensibly in releasing this ‘Interceptor’ device which operates in rivers they can make a much bigger impact since rivers are the recognised source of most marine plastic pollution. Interesting idea. Click here to see the devices at work.
