Water UK – Learning from the impacts of the 2018 freeze-thaw, PIC update

    NewsWater

    From Water UK

In September 2018 Water UK proposed a series of areas where water companies would work collaboratively to address the challenges raised during the Beast from the East in early Spring 2018. Today we publish an assessment of the progress made and the steps being taken to improve the preparedness of the sector to future extreme weather events.

The report can be accessed here.

Also, Water UK has published an update on the Public Interest Commitment, made in April this year when “water companies in England reaffirmed their ongoing determination to work in the public interest”. The PIC covers carbon, plastics, leakage, affordability and more. Progress highlighted includes a number of industry research projects, workshops, events and water company initiatives.
