Marine conservation project grants – applications invited
If you are planning a marine conservation project, you may be eligible to apply for a grant from Sea-Changers.
We give out a number of small grants (generally between £600 and £1,200) twice a year, often supporting grassroots and community based projects. The projects funded will achieve one or more of the following objectives:
- To address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.
- To prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and / or species.
- To add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.
Marine Litter Fund
Thanks to a generous grant from The Gardener’s Trust, Sea-Changers also has a specific fund to prevent and address marine litter issues. Approximately 60% of this funding supports projects in Scotland with 40% being allocated elsewhere in UK.
The latest application round for both the general and the marine litter funds is currently open with a closing date of 30th of September 2019. The application process is very straightforward and the proportion of grants that are successful is generally over 50%.
