Emma Cunningham MCS Senior Clean Seas Advocate, emma.cunningham@mcsuk.org 01989 566017 & Laura Foster, MCS Head of Clean Seas laura.foster@mcsuk.org & Bob Earll CMS & Coastal Futures bob.earll@coastms.co.uk

This is a preliminary report on a survey of 9,000 professional and informed people working in the marine, coastal and water environments. It reports the views of 590 respondents on 10 questions concerning the understanding they have, and actions they are taking, on plastic pollution. It has been prepared to support a presentation at the Coastal Futures 2019 conference, as well inform other initiatives. Individual delegates are well informed on this issue relative to the general public and are in a prime position to be able to influence others; it is hoped that these results and this presentation will encourage conference delegates to take action.
