Developing a Canadian standard for Flood Resilient communities – Report

    News

Thanks to Richard Ashley for this report.

The Canadian Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation, our new report titled “Weathering the Storm: Developing a Canadian Standard for Flood-Resilient Existing Communities.”

The report highlights a range of solutions that can be deployed practically and cost-effectively within communities and households, across Canada, to reduce flood risk. It also features a Flood Hazard and Vulnerability Screening Framework for selecting areas within communities that should be targeted for flood-resiliency retrofits.

The development of this report was supported financially by the National Research Council Canada, Standards Council of Canada and Intact Financial Corporation, with the objective to establish a National Standard on flood resiliency for Canadian communities.  To access the report in ENGLISH, please visit: www.intactcentreclimateadaptation.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Weathering-the-Storm.pdf
