Research Opportunity – Bird Collision Avoidance of Offshore Wind Turbines

The European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), in Aberdeen Bay, Scotland, became operational in summer 2018.  This innovative 93.2MW 11-turbine offshore wind scheme trials next generation technology and boosts the industry’s drive to competitive clean power see www.vattenfall.co.uk/eowdc for more project specific information.

Vattenfall have committed to investing €3million in a Scientific Research & Monitoring Programme which aims to provide robust science on priority areas of uncertainty on the environmental effects of offshore windfarms. As part of the programme, four projects were funded following a successful call in 2016 www.vattenfall.co.uk/eowdc-scientific-research

Proposals are now invited for studies of bird collision avoidance at the EOWDC, full details and proposal requirements are available at the above link.  Please contact eowdc.bcaproposals@vattenfall.com if you have any questions about this tender.

Closing date for proposals is 29th November 2018.
