World Animal Protection appointed fisheries consultants Poseidon Aquatic Resource Management Ltd to undertake a series of work packages to ‘define best practices and inform policies on the management of fishing gear abandoned, lost or otherwise discarded fishing gear (ALDFG). ALDFG has a significant impact on marine wildlife because of the long lasting nature of the gear materials.
