Marine Geo-resources Professional Masterclass 2026 – 2027

A globally unique, expert course and professional Certificate in it’s second year. Addressing geoskills associated with the exploration, assessment, development, extraction and management of marine sand and gravel resources. Our sponsor – The Crown Estate recognises the need for specific training which is primarily targeted at building capability and capacity within the marine dredging sector which is also directly applicable to allied sectors working within the marine environment.
The bespoke training has been designed for both those in existing marine industry roles, as well as land-based geo- and environmental professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge and capabilities.
The training is a 7 day, face-to-face course running from October to April focussed on preparing and upskilling geo-professionals in the marine sand and gravel sector and its associated services. As the course is at pitched at Masters+ level, a BSc in geology, geography, marine or environmental sciences is generally required. Whilst the course explores the science behind the subject, it is practical and designed for real world application by practitioners. A range of the most experienced sector professionals from industry, consultancy and contractors will give lectures and offer practical exercises.
The course is open for application. Numbers will be limited to 20 and awarded on application. Attendees will be expected to commit to be present for each session.
