We’re looking for a Coastal Project Manager and a Coastal Project Officer to join our team supporting the delivery of the Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Planning (CMAP) Project across the north of the Island of Ireland.
CMAP is a €9.6M EU PEACEPLUS-funded, cross-border project, led by Ulster University with multiple partners including National Trust that will help coastal communities and nature adapt to the threats posed by climate change and provide decision-makers and stakeholders with new data to support coastal management and nature-based solutions.
This project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
As Project Manager, you will lead the coordination and strategic delivery of the CMAP project for National Trust Objectives, you need to be an excellent project manager; good at working with people, especially local communities, understand coastal issues and/or climate adaptation and be able to bring people together to codevelop living plans and action them. You also will need to be able to contract in specialist expertise to support the project and support partners in collecting data across our properties (we manage 22% of the coast of Northern Ireland).
As Project Officer, you will support the project manager and be the lead on the blue carbon (mainly saltmarsh) elements of the work, so you will have some experience of monitoring and data collection from coastal and or other carbon rich habitats and/or habitat restoration and you will enjoy setting up citizen science projects. The ability to create guidance and plans for habitat management is also useful.
Both roles require strong organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a passion for community-based climate action. Experience working in partnership-led projects, especially across different sectors or regions, is desirable.
These positions offer an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of climate adaptation, working on practical solutions that benefit people, nature, and the economy. If you want to help shape a resilient, sustainable future for coastal communities and habitats, we’d love to hear from you.
