Our Team

The Natural Power Consenting & Environment team offers and performs a range of planning and environmental related services right the way through a renewable energy project’s life.

We bring together qualified planners and project managers with a range of technical specialists to support our clients through site identification, feasibility, scoping, EIA, HRA, and post-consent support. For offshore projects we also provide support on bidding into lease rounds and bring together specialists for each of the onshore and offshore components.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant (Offshore) to join our growing offshore team, based in the UK. We are seeking a dynamic individual with relevant experience who is looking to progress their career within an ambitious renewable energy consultancy, working primarily in offshore wind projects. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the successful co- ordination, management, delivery and QA of offshore projects and provision of specialist advice at strategic level across a suite of projects. You will have relevant project management experience of, for example environmental impact assessment (EIA) or marine licence compliance, and of renewable energy infrastructure, and the ability to provide assessment support for a wide range of environmental services.

The main purpose of the role is to work on and manage offshore renewable energy or cabling infrastructure projects, providing advice on licence requirements, coordinating assessments, conducting stakeholder engagement, and providing specialist advice. There will be the opportunity to work on a range of projects from marine licence applications to EIA’s.

You will work alongside a team of environmental consultants as well other offshore specialists covering planning, ornithology, marine mammal, benthic habitats, and fisheries. Key activities / responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the on-time, on-quality, on-budget delivery of projects, coordinating resources to achieve milestones
  • Overseeing change management process including cost and scope variations where required
  • Liaising with clients, landowners, stakeholders, statutory consultees, prescribed bodies, colleagues and sub-consultants throughout projects
  • Provide clients, colleagues, stakeholders and consultees with specialist technical advice
  • Prepare and review written technical reports (including scoping and screening reports)
  • Maintain, develop and manage relationships with clients, colleagues, consultee bodies and industry contacts to successfully deliver projects and assist our continued business growth
  • Manage both small and large-scale projects including contract, staff, subcontractor and budget management
