Fast-track your Career at Swindon Borough Council

Swindon is a vibrant and dynamic town with big plans for growth. The Borough is 89 square miles in area, and currently home to about 210,000 people. We are ranked in the top 10 most highly innovative areas in the UK and are seeking to reflect this level of innovation in the way we deliver Council services.

Working as part of a specialist team of asset management engineers, you will support the delivery of the Council’s responsibilities as Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) and Highways Authority. Your primary functions will be to undertake the approval of drainage designs associated with planning applications and to apply a risk based approach to identify; design and implement drainage improvement schemes.

With an HNC in Civil Engineering and registration as an Incorporated Engineer or equivalent compensatory experience, you will have substantial knowledge and experience of drainage design and SuDS and a proven track record of understanding the core principles of Civil, Municipal Engineering.

This role is a great opportunity for dynamic individuals with a ‘can do’ attitude to be part of Swindon’s continuing success story. If you have the skills to take on this challenging role we want to hear from you!

In return we can offer a competitive salary, a great working environment and a chance to be part of a service that offers excellent career prospects.
