Marine Environmental Consultant/Project Manager – Aquaculture

Location:  SAMS Enterprise, Malin House, Oban
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern:  Full Time (37hrs, Monday to Friday)
Salary Range: £29,915.19 – £33,647.14 per annum – starting salary will depend on experience.

The Role
SAMS Enterprise, the commercial subsidiary of the Scottish Association for Marine Science based in Oban, is seeking to appoint an Environmental Consultant / Project Manager to join our consultancy team.  Your focus will be on the Aquaculture Sector, playing a role in the development of NewDEPOMOD (NDM) and other aquaculture related projects, working closely with an established delivery team and research colleagues.

Our Ideal Candidate
Ideally educated to postgraduate level in marine/environmental sciences, with technical expertise in Aquaculture, you will utilise your experience to carry out environmental consultancy duties.  The role will also require project management and delivery, customer account management, opportunity generation and tender preparation.  You will work alongside the business development team and report to the Programme Manager.  Training and guidance will be provided where required.

As a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills, you will enjoy the challenge of working at the interface of scientific research, industrial challenges and evidence-based policy making.
