About the role
Due to continued success in environmental modelling and assessment projects in the UK and Ireland, Intertek is seeking talented and enthusiastic people with an interest or experience in river, estuarine or coastal impact assessments, to join its well established and growing team. We have opportunities at junior and senior grades across our offices in the UK, and potentially in Northern Ireland and Ireland for the right candidate.
Our team is recognised as one of the UK’s leading developers of models of aquatic environments and providers of water quality and environmental solutions. In this role, you will be part of a specialist team delivering exciting environmental modelling and impact assessment projects, to clients in the UK and internationally. We support blue chip companies from the water, marine renewable and offshore wind, ports & harbours, energy transition and oil & gas sectors and your solutions will make a real difference to people’s lives.
Our clients rely on our problem-solving abilities, technical solutions and our fast and responsive service, and your enthusiasm, skills and experience can help us deliver these projects successfully. We have an expanding portfolio of projects and opportunities in Northern Ireland and Ireland, and welcome applicants with previous experience in these areas.
This is an excellent job opportunity for a candidate who wishes to apply a creative mind to real world challenges and contribute to a team already established for its excellence.
You will have an interest in solving environmental challenges in rivers, lakes, estuaries and/or coastal waters, using predictive models, advanced data analysis and management tools. We are looking for people with inquisitive minds who are enthused by the prospect of building scientific argument to address complex real‑world challenges. You should enjoy liaising directly with clients, regulators and stakeholders and be comfortable managing work packages or projects. You should also enjoy working in a cohesive team with other gifted individuals and be excited by the prospect of developing practical and quantified leading-edge solutions.
For applicants for more junior roles, we are looking for academic qualifications, enthusiasm and demonstration of a desire to develop these skills. For more senior roles, we would expect to see your applied skills and experience, development and evidence of your previous success. In all cases, creativity, independent thinking and practical problem-solving skills are essential.
