Offshore Renewables EIA Lead – Ireland

Intertek Energy & Water Consultancy Services (part of the Intertek Group) is seeking an experienced Offshore Renewables EIA Leader to grow our environmental business in Ireland.  This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead existing environmental projects in Ireland and build on our extensive track record supporting projects in the Irish Offshore Renewables, Subsea Cables and Water Utility sectors..  We are seeking an enthusiastic, independent self-starter with excellent business acumen, looking to develop with precision, passion and pace in a rapidly growing market.

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Environment Team Lead in the UK, your main responsibility will be to successfully deliver and grow our Irish Offshore Project Portfolio, and our Irish team.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary team to deliver EIAs and associated deliverables, providing technical expertise and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with Intertek’s high-quality standards.
  • Represent clients to regulators and key stakeholders.
  • Closely collaborate with Intertek Energy & Water management to develop existing contacts and grow new contacts in the Irish Offshore Renewables and Cables sectors, acting as main point of contact for key clients.
  • Identify new hires as the project portfolio expands, and establish a local presence.
  • Promote and pro-actively participate in the development of junior colleagues.
  • Perform with professionalism and integrity at all times, acting as an example of good business practice in accordance with Intertek Business Values.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduate experience in the environmental consultancy field.
  • Experience in the consenting and permitting of offshore projects in Ireland or transferable UK experience, for example, in marine EIA for National Significant Infrastructure Projects, familiarity with the Development Consent Order process, project leadership throughout the project lifecycle from Scoping through to Examination.
  • An in-depth understanding of the Irish Renewable Energy Market and the current legislative changes, including the risks and opportunities for the sector.
  • Experience of tendering and business development and a well-established network of contacts in the Irish Offshore Renewables Sector, including key stakeholders.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
