Project Manager sought for European ATLAS project

ATLAS is a 4-year €9.2M project funded through the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 scheme. The project began in May 2016 and has 24 core partners, a wider network of associate partners and an international Advisory Board. Its goals are to create a trans-Atlantic assessment and deep-water ecosystem-based spatial management plan for Europe.
The ATLAS Project Manager will support the project co-ordinator in all aspects of grant and project management including monitoring of project delivery and budget, meeting EC reporting requirements, and fulfilment of objectives. You will also work very closely with the co-ordinator’s research team and University’s European Research Grants Office to ensure all scientific and management requirements are constantly aligned and optimised throughout the project.
Excellent coordination and project management skills with experience managing and reporting research grants are critical to the success of the role. Experience of EC funded research projects, language skills and a background in the environmental sciences are significant assets to the role.
The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Overall project management responsibility for ATLAS to ensure that deadlines, targets and project deliverables are successfully achieved.
- Continuous liaison and networking with all ATLAS partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operation and wider planning and co-ordination of ATLAS activities.
- Provision of administrative assistance to the ATLAS project co-ordinator and the project team and wider horizon scanning for synergistic opportunities.
This post is full time fixed term until the 30th April 2020.
