    BusinessGreen ‘Environmental Audit Committee letter calls for government to maintain existing level of environmental protection “as a minimum” Labour MP and Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) chair Mary Creagh has written to Brexit secretary David Davis urging him to reassure businesses that the government plans to preserve environmental protections provided by EU law.

    The letter, which was sent last week but only published openly today, seeks clarification on government plans for the large proportion of UK environmental law that originates from the EU. It was also sent to Thérèse Coffey, a minister at the Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (Defra).
