In a recent article, we looked back at how Ocean and Coastal Futures (OCF) has evolved from CMS. We’ve worked hard in that time to bring coastal and marine practitioners together as a community, and create a wider network of experts and stakeholders to benefit our sector.
We’re now looking to build on the progress we’ve made. We intend to grow and diversify while remaining focused on the things we do best – bringing our community together at events and conferences; keeping people informed about marine and coastal news; and helping them find jobs in the sector.
OCF News
Our news emails will continue to keep you up to date with all that’s happening in the coastal and marine sector. We plan to improve this service by making them cleaner and more modern, and enabling you to customise them to your preferences.
OCF Jobs
Our jobs emails promote opportunities to a large database of well-qualified candidates. We’re looking at what more we can do around recruitment and employability – helping employers find the right candidates, and helping people find and apply for jobs in our sector.
OCF Events
We will continue to deliver the sectors’ leading conference, ‘Coastal Futures’, by bringing together over 450 practitioners in-person and 250 online each year. We also work in partnership with others, such as the Environment Agency for the ReMeMaRe conference.
In the longer term, we plan to broaden the scope of our activity – with more in-person and virtual events, more partnerships and collaborations, more outputs from our events programme – and eventually, professional development.
Over the next few weeks we’ll start to look a bit different too, as we roll out new branding across our existing activity. But the changes will be gradual, and you’ll always know it’s us.
