We’ve come a long way since Bob Earll began organising water, coastal and marine events back in the nineties. The CMS news and jobs service and the Coastal Futures conference have become focal points for our sector, with subscribers and attendees running into tens of thousands.

In 2022 we became OCF with three Directors: David Tudor, Natasha Bradshaw and Dickon Howell. Our mission is to bring practitioners together, online and in person. Our substantial in-house expertise in the water, coastal and marine sectors is complemented by our wider network, which includes expertise across industry, conservation, academia, policy and governance.

Over the years we’ve developed a reputation for connecting people – organising events, creating communications and promoting job opportunities. Now, we’re ready to do more. We plan to use our networks and expertise to grow and diversify, becoming a positive, influential voice for our community.

Subscribers will still receive our trusted and popular weekly newsletters, and we’ll continue to run conferences and events, as well as helping people find jobs in the sector. Jayne will remain our key contact for advertising and sponsorship, with Hannah organising events and Diana taking care of the accounts.

We’ve already identified new opportunities for development – in terms of who we represent, the services we provide, and how we can use our influence in positive ways. We have exciting plans for the future, and we’ll begin to reveal more about them in upcoming newsletters. Watch this space!
