Ofwat has concluded that only seven of the 42 PR24 bespoke performance commitments (PCs) submitted by water companies in April are potentially suitable for further development. These come from six firms: South West, Anglian, Thames, SES, Affinity and Southern.

Most of the others, which were received from 12 companies in all (four firms opted not to put any bespoke PCs forward) were deemed to overlap too much with common PCs.

The areas where Ofwat has agreed that performance commitments are potentially suitable include

  • Embodied greenhouse gas emissions (South West Water)
  • Low carbon concrete (Anglian Water)
  • Street work collaboration (Thames Water)
  • Water softening (SES Water)
  • Average time properties experience low pressure (Affinity Water)
  • Abstraction incentive mechanism (AIM) (Affinity Water and Southern Water)
