UN to host hybrid World Ocean Day

    MarineNews

June 8th marks World Ocean Day (WOD). To celebrate, the UN will host a special hybrid event taking place in-person at the UN Headquarters in New York and broadcast live to a global audience. This year’s theme, Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean, sheds light on the communities, ideas and solutions that are working together to protect and revitalise the ocean and everything it sustains.

The half-day event will feature keynote speeches, panels and presentations kicked off by the UN Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly, with leading voices including, among others, Dr Sylvia Earle, H.E Dr João Gomes Cravinho, H.E. Ms Njambi Kinyungu, Lesley Crowther, Amber Valletta, Lea d’Auriol and Jade Lozada.

More information can be read here and the official World Ocean Day event website can be found here.
