The EU LIFE programme has launched two calls

The EU LIFE programme has launched two calls for proposals for projects in the environment and climate action sub-programmes. With a total budget of nearly €250 million, thematic priorities include integrated approaches for the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive, and projects around floods and drought management.

EU Habitats and Birds Directive – Questionnaire – Your Views on the Fitness check

The EU is in the middle of a Fitness check on the EU Habitats and Birds Directives, two of the most important pieces of legislation responsible for wildlife protection across the EU. Anyone can complete the questionnaire and I would urge anyone concerned with wildlife conservation to make submissions.  We cannot complain if EU Wildlife legislation is weakened if we do not respond.

Improvement programme for England’s Natura 2000 sites (IPENS): summary report

Natural England 21 May 2015 Biodiversity and ecosystems: This report explains the work carried out by the programme and how the findings will be used to target efforts to improve Natura 2000 sites.

The improvement programme for England’s Natura 2000 sites (IPENS) is a 2 year project led by Natural England, in partnership with the Environment Agency with support from the European Union’s LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity programme.  See the IPENS page for more information
