52nd Annual Conference
23rd – 25th November 2021
National Oceanography Centre, Southampton
Following the success of our 50th Anniversary Conference in Nottingham in 2019 and the virtual ‘Festival of Fisheries’ last year, it is now the turn of our Southern Branch to host our annual event which was postponed from last year.
Following a year of reflection for our 50th year we will now be looking ahead with this year’s theme of Future Challenges. Fisheries, both in the UK and globally, face significant challenges in coming years, and it is the work that is been done to highlight and mitigate these issues that we aim to highlight.
Whilst we are still in very uncertain times with the coronavirus pandemic, we are now more confident that we will be in a more stable situation by November which will allow us to host our conference. Obviously, if the situation worsens and we are unable to host an effective conference, we will change our plans and look for an alternative format again to allow us to host the event.
The conference is planned to be held over three days, 23 – 25 November 2021, with talks, poster session, field trips, trade stands and networking events and the 52nd Annual Dinner at the Dancing Man Brewery.
The organising committee would welcome submissions from people working in the following areas:
- Disease and fish health
- Climate resilience
- Invasive species
- Regulation and politics
- Remote working in a post Covid world
All abstracts should include the following information in this order:
- Title of the paper
- Authors’ full names with presenter’s name highlighted
- Affiliation and country of origin for each co-author
- Full address of the presenting author
- Email address of the presenting author
- 100 – 200 word abstract on the paper’s content
- Oral or poster presentation
The Steering Group will review all submissions and will aim to ensure a good balance of topics and geographic areas. If requests for oral presentations are oversubscribed a poster presentation may be offered instead.
All submissions and enquiries should be sent directly to the conference administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that speakers will still be required to register as a delegate for the conference.
Closing date for submission: 22nd September 2021
